*New*

i came across some new toys that were worth posting about so check out my reviews and the links to see more information!

1. clojo tissue holder -if you have really small bathroom and need room to store extra t.p this is a great idea. the design is innovative and quite attractive. i would definetly recommend it for dorm rooms. and hell its only 5$.
2. tetran headphone wire winder
-im a fairly organized person and one of my biggest pet peeves is having cords all over. whether it be from around my neck or to comp. cables and so on and so forth. the original intention for the device is directed to headphones, but i think it would be very useful for other cords as well. and the little monsters are so cute.
3. twist and spout
-finally an invention that is not only conventional but practical. this little dohicky provide less spillage from bottles of any kind. i also find it almost makes soda classy like a fine wine. it comes in tons of colors too which is an awesome feature.
4. handcuff necklace
-its deliciously kinky and yet elegant. it is a must have on my list. definetly one of those items that gets people asking questions or assuming something naughty.
5. cool jewels ice tray
-im icy, so icy...and i mean this in a literal sense. this nifty item allows you to make ice in the shapes of your favorite jewels..adorable for sure.
6. coal candy
-i happened to come across this while searching for a christmas picture and thought it was cute. now you can literally give coal for christmas, i personally plan to send one to my sister who i am sure will get a kick out it.
7. bowl candles
-exclusive to pier1, i think that they are not only appealing to the nose, but certainly to the eye. i would love to have one in every color and scent. while you are at the site, also check out their candlescapes--they are also to die for.

more updates on this in the future!!

Holiday Ideas

i recently came across a holiday gift list presented by verizon and engadget and i thought it was a great idea. the gifts are practical and reasonably priced but i thought it could use some spunk hence my notes on it from here!

1. IPOD SHUFFLE:
this product is generally priced at about 80$ but personally i would much rather pay for the real ipod at 150$ than pay half for this product. its tiny which is very cool, but it doesnt have a screen to view playlists and doesnt hold many songs. engadget ops for an engraved one, which i think is the sweetest idea, but im sure you can engrave the larger and more efficient ipod as well. so yes, on an ipod..no to the shuffle.

2. EX KNIFE HOLDER:
this is the neatest thing i have seen in ages. a knife holder in the shape of a human body in which you place knives through to hold them in place. i have no complaints about this item its fantastic, although i would like to see it in other colors than red. some of us dont have red themed kitchens. but all in all, i think it is well worth the 60$ if you have the cash to spare especially on a gift for one of your girlfriends or even a house warming gift in the spring.

3. CELLPHONE:
their list makes a direct reference to some samsung phone but at first glance i thought it was ugly, henceforth not for one of my girls. although i do agree that a cellphone is a great gift idea. i would personally recommend a chocolate from verizon ,they come in many colors and i think its nifty that they have an mp3 player. i myself own a pink razr, and i love it. if you are really interested in getting a cellphone for someone regardless of their age or gender, why dont you just drop some hints and find out what exactly they are looking for. in that case, you cant go wrong.

4. NABAZTAG:
now...im still trying to figure out what this thing is. it looks like a rabbit a cute one at that, but im still trying to figure out its purpose. its available at thinkgeek.com and well if you are interested more power to you. all the info i can offer is that it is cute. heehee.

5. NINTENDO WII:
oh yeah. the nintendo wii. i personally went all over town to get mine on launch date and it was totally worth it. although it is extremely hard to find right now, if you can get your hands on one, totally eat it up. it is the most innovative gaming system i have encountered in a long time. for example in one of the free games, wii sports, you can bowl, play baseball, play tennis, boxing and golf--in these games you actually hold your "wiimote" like you are actually playing. i like to call this system new age virtual reality and if you check it out at your local eb, gamestop or other gaming store you will totally know why. its rather inexpensive at 250$ and believe me it is worth much more than that. oh and dont forget to pick up a few games while on the hunt. i recommend zelda, rayman, and trauma center. i give all those games at least a 8.0.

6. CAMERA:
on the list in this place is a casio camera which i know nothing about but ill give you this, it is sleek and black and rather attractive. i agree that a camera is a great idea for the photographer at heart, however i have no professional advice on which camera is better than the other.

7. DIGITAL PICTURE FRAME:
ooh i love this idea!! i saw my first lcd frame at brookstone and fell in love. this nifty new gadget allows you to display more than one picture all the time. this electronic frame allows numerous pictures to be placed on the disk (i believe it has a memory card disk located in the back) and it essentially displays a slideshow of these pictures on the front changing them every few minutes or so. i am personally a huge picture person so i love this idea.

now if you have actually seen this list you will notice that i have skipped a large section of it here. i just dont feel like a robotic vacuum or a new tivo is really what i would want for christmas and doesnt personally interest me so i decided to skip to the next thing that held my attention..

8. TULIP EGO:
great idea, whole lot of cash. at 5000$ a pop, this gift doesnt come easy but i had to mention it because in a girls eyes, i think it is so great. a laptop that looks like a handbag! when closed, this laptop folds perfectly, even with a handle and can easily be mistaken for a handbag. there isnt anything special about the laptop itself, but it is extremely cute..and as i said earlier extremely expensive!!

so that is my take on engadgets holiday for her list. to see the complete list click here.
happy holidays and good luck shopping!

Laptop Anyone?

Ah, the sweet society we live in where computers rule the world. Honestly, where would we be in this day and age without a computer. Just like with Y2K, that would have been one of the greatest catastrophes in history. Hence my recent enjoyment has been found within a decently priced laptop of which is currently being shipped my way!

HP Pavilion DB9000Z series are the definitely on the hot market right now. Not only are they reasonably priced but they include all the technical goodies you could want and free upgrades. The price generally starts out mid 800's, which could sound a little pricey to technical noobs, but when you check out all the included hardware it a great deal. For example, at the minimum price you get an AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology Processor, a lightscribe dvd/cd burner, windows xp media center, a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 graphics card with 256MB of dedicated video memory,
and tons more. I obviously would not recommend this notebook for someone whose only use would be to check email (however those folks are lacking these days) but if you are looking for something that is functional, has a lot of custom ability then this just may be a great buy for you.

On to new toys that I presently plan to obtain all involve bluetooth capabilities. For those who dont know what bluetooth is, you might as well skip this section, if you dont know by now then you wont be interested in this anyway. I personally enjoy the ability to drive and talk on the phone handsfree without the burden of the whole through car speaker setup or the new built in phone system in newer cars. I'm a big fan of the bluetooth headsets, especially those that are made from Motorola. Plantronics is generally cheaper in price in most cases, but you are definetly paying for what you get..in other words, the price is equivalent to the quality. The price range of these nifty gadgets run from anywhere between $30-100+. I'd definetly look up some reviews on these before you buy the one for you. There are sometimes issues with range of headpiece to phone and of course clarity of sound.
Another great bluetooth accessory are the bluetooth headphones which you can find almost anywhere but are a great addition to say an ipod or an mp3 capable phone. I really enjoy this product when I am running or when I am just walking around trying to get things done, when I dont need cords hanging in front of my face half the time.

Last note, now that I have mentioned ipods are the arm bands that are available from apple and im sure many other companies. They are handy, allow the ipod to be out of the way, and again are a great addition to the bluetooth headphones when I am running or doing housework of some kind.

More on this later as information arises.
